The Furlong, Ringwood Wedding Event

Well today was a first for quite a few of us in the wedding industry with Ringwood's first ever wedding event in the open air, including a fashion show music, free cake for the ladies and beer for the guys!

We had a great time chatting to all the lovely people who came to say hello and have a chat.  We also received some very lovely enquiries for crockery hire too!

Sadly, we did not get around to chat to all the exhibitors and to take everyone's photos but here are a few we did manage to get:-

Arcade Flowers

Dorset Dubhire

Chilly White Traditional Ice Cream Tricycle

Flight Parade

Elmsleigh Cakes

Fishee Designs

Emily with one of her vintage props from Fishee Designs

Cupcakes by Louise

New Forest Hotels

 and lastly, us....

A big thanks to Nick and Charlie of The Furlong Centre for all their hard work in putting this event together and to Nick for helping me unload at the beginning and repack my car at the end!!

The "Little Details"

As wedding planners and stylists, we thrive on the "little details"!  After many months of liaising with our couples, checking and double checking lists, their wedding day arrives, and although its hands on from the moment we arrive, to the end of the day, its the styling and setting up prior to the wedding and the physical transformation that makes all the long hours worthwhile.

In this blog we would like to show you the floral arrangements we created, the bouquets, pew ends and vintage style displays which formed the basis of this wedding: an english country garden.

We have to start at the beginning though......... we met our lovely bride with her mum at the venue almost a year to the day before.

The venue was Pamphill Village Hall, Wimborne and it is set in a rural and idylic setting with surrounding fields and countryside.  In fact you would not necessarily know it existed.

During the tour of the village hall we chatted about many matters, including the lack of light, the ceiling (which wasnt particularly attractive) and the bowling alley (yes really!) See below photo!

However, I assured our 'bride to be' that these were not necessarily problems, and I could overcome these areas of concern with some very crafty "wedding DIY".  The wedding styling  took 2 whole days with two lovely assistants, Conny and Sophie helping me.  However, it was indeed a true transformation.    Our styling wands had been well and truely waved and the magic had begun.....

Here is a photo of the same hall on the morning of the wedding.

The satisfaction we felt was amazing...... but the best bit of all was our bride's reaction the day before her wedding .... "it's just how I dreamt it would be ... its absolutely beautiful"

So to finish off here are few more of the photos of a very special wedding, and a very special village hall.

The room sparkled with fairy lights, and lots of tealights and the country garden style continued with the pretty floral bunting.

Here we have one of our bespoke fabric hearts which we make to order to co-ordinate with wedding colours and themes.  This one had soft pastels, ditzy patterns, hessian and lace and our bride loved having a momento of her day to use in her own home.

Our very pretty hat stand..

and of course our lovely bride in her fabulous vintage styled lace dress

We hope you have enjoyed a little insight into what we can offer - its not just crockery hire...we have our styling wands too!

Wedding Bouquets Forever

One of the many pleasures of exhibiting at Wedding Fairs is meeting new people who have turned their hobby/craft into a passion which in turn becomes a business.   At such a fair in Southampton recently my stand was next door to the lovely Nicola Garrett who creates the most beautiful brooch bouquets I have seen.

To be honest I could not stop gazing at them and if I could have sneaked a little one away, and got away with it, I may have tried!!

In Nicola's own words "Nicola Garrett Brooch Bouquets are beautifully hand crafted wedding bouquets made from sparkly and enamelled vintage and vintage style brooches. Each brooch bouquet is completely individual, making it a fabulously unique addition to any wedding day and it is something that would be lovingly cherished for years to come, a long lasting memento"

So much has changed since I was preparing to get married (32 years now) but if I were marrying  today there is no doubt I would opt for a gorgeous bouquet to keep and pass down to my daughter & grandchildren as a unique momento and if you are marrying abroad they are absolutely perfect.

Nicola can also make bespoke bouquets incorporating a favourite brooch, colour or theme and cater for bridesmaids too.   The good news is that Nicola delivers nationwide too!

For further information here is Nicola's website http://www.broochbouquets.co.uk/

Have a look at the Gallery as it contains so many gorgeous bouquets.
