Wedding Fair at The Crown Blandford

Last weekend we had a lovely day exhibiting our crockery and vintage pieces at a Wedding Fair deep in Dorset at The Crown Hotel, Blandford http://www.crownhotel-blandford.co.uk/.

Nestling on the edge of the delightful Dorset Market town of Blandford Forum this 3 star Georgian hotel oozes charm and character. To one side it overlooks the picturesque water meadows of the Stour River and the 15th Century Bridge that enters the town from the south. The other side is the bustling town centre.

With the sun shining it really did begin to feel like spring had sprung.  The wedding fair had a good footfall of visitors and we received some lovely comments about our stand from visitors and suppliers alike.

For a previous wedding we specifically created a wedding table plan from a vintage suitcase and this is being hired out for another two weddings this summer.    However we wanted to create another vintage suitcase tableplan  with a different style and feel so we decided to delve further back into history and recreate one from the 19th century - the Victorian Era.

We contacted a very good friend of ours, Stefanie from 'Gild The Lily'  http://stefanie-gildthelily.blogspot.com/ who is a very talented lady.  Stefanie is a Textile Artist and specialises in Florist Vintage Country style Beadwork, Embroidery, Flowers and Textiles. After explaining what we were after, we left it to Stefanie to put her own interpretation on the design and we were blown away when we saw the finished product!

Stefanie based the vintage suitcase tableplan on muted colours of nude, cream and white.  It was then embellished with gorgeous soft peach/pink flowers,  dripping with pearls and adorned with pretty sparkly broaches and the final touch were the  table seating plan cards which were pale pink and edged with lace.

Stefanie also added to the very soft vintage look one of her  own gorgeous hand beaded wedding bouquets and it finished the display off beautifully.  Her bouquets are absolutely stunning and many many hours are spent on creating them.    She also lent us a gorgeous one in shades or brown, taupe, gold which we placed on an open vintage book.

Here are a few more images of our stand.  As we said above, we met some new and lovely wedding suppliers who we are sure we will be working with in the future and will introduce them to you very shortly.
